Trying to expand my way of approaching a new piece is always a challenge. One most strive to push themselves into new directions. "Red Field" is my first attempt of doing so. Exploring the deeper relationships of color and the expressiveness of the brush stroke excites my palette. This piece measures 14x26 and is acrylic on heavy watercolor paper.
“I want my works to capture the spirit and emotion of the subject by using splashes of color. I embrace painting because of its unpredictability. It is the accident, the unforeseen which by chance can be pursued, and elevates the work from the ordinary to the magical. Through this process of painting, I transcend into a higher spiritual plain.”
